Larry Litvak reflection

I enjoyed Larry Litvak’s presentation on sustainable business models. I think it was particularly valuable to understand the key components of a business plan by looking at the Zipcar example that was provided. This way, I got a better feeling for how businesses typically deal with differences between expectation (as presented in the business model) and what actually plays out (during implementation). In that sense, a lot of the key preparatory work we are going to have to do (and are beginning to do now) will involve establishing local partnerships to collaborate on the most realistic business model. Litvak also noted that adjustments based on cultural behavior were vitally important for Zipcar, as I’m sure they will be for us as well. Thus, it will be important to adapt our business model after observing/experiencing implementation in Dhaka this summer to generate a model that is most effective.
