Being a product design major, hearing Banny speak was especially exciting. I love seeing the design thinking model show to non PD majors – and seeing the way it can spark completely new angles of thought and design.
I think that the most powerful part of Banny’s talk was this concept of reframing. That what you think is the problem is likely not the true problem. The importance of first hand observation and understanding, and truly digging deep to discover the root issues, is the most essential step to designing something that will be effective and successful. I think that our group is moving forward to really get more feedback and insight to people who know the situation in Dhaka better than we do, and we will be very receptive to the feedback.
