I had the opportunity to attend the meeting where Veronica Cedillos came from Peru to explain about the work done in Chocos, Peru. What I really found interesting was the work done to mobilize the community. Especially since it was women who where manufacturing the building blocks. This is specially interesting because construction is a mainly done by men in Latin America.

There was a really good story that Veronica shared with us about the organization. They were invited to Haiti to among other NGOs to talk about different ways to help reconstruct Haiti after the earthquake. What was interesting it was that at first many people were not paying attention to them because they were women. It not only after the women started to show the men how to make mud bricks that people saw the potential of this group.
